As I embark on almost 20yrs in Atlanta, I look back on how much things have changed! I originally came to Atlanta for Morehouse College back in 2000, I had never been to Atlanta before all I knew was that I wanted to become a Morehouse Man! So I left Pontiac, Michigan and headed for the A, oh the stories I could tell but I’ll save them for the book lol!!!
Fast forward to now 2018, I completed Morehouse some years ago and stayed in Atlanta, but oh’ how things have changed!! The first noticeable change can be the obvious *overcrowdedness* (I made that up lol). When most people think of “Atlanta, Georgia” they think “Hollywood of the south” or the home of “Ratchet Reality”, television shows! Atlanta actually has so much more to offer, there’s an emerging number of young professionals in the city that are doing innovative things and creating a buzz for Atlanta, outside of the things that are already commonly well known.
Among the new young professionals in Atlanta, Milan Amani, CEO of We Are The New Atlanta! We Are The New Atlanta™ isn’t just another logo or brand. Amani created WATNA as not only a clothing brand but as a networking company aiming to connect Atlanta’s upcoming creatives and brands. Milan’s goal is to curate a movement that will empower Atlanta through the union of business, events, and opportunities. I had the pleasure of meeting Amani for the first time at the Essence + Ford, My City 4 Ways tour here in Atlanta, and after listening to her speak on the panel I knew immediately that I wanted to support her movement and brand.
