Skincare – In recent times, guys have put more effort into self-grooming especially with the popularity of beards in the past couple of years. However, simplicity is key when we’re on the go. For best results, always consult with your dermatologist to find out your skin type, in order to maintain healthy skin under your beard. Just because a product is popular doesn’t mean it will be a perfect fit for you.
Recently, I had an incident that caused me to abandon the #BEARDGANG for a while. Long story short I tried removing an ingrown hair and the area became infected, which led to the left side of my face swelling and me looking like the elephant man! Eventually, I had no choice but to cut my beard completely off and take a trip to the dermatologist. One of my biggest concerns was my hair growing back because it had all fallen out around the infected area. Taking the advice of my dermatologist who told me that there was a possibility that the hair wouldn’t grow back, she prescribed several skin creams.
