As the official start of summer nears closer and closer things are heating up! Trying to maintain a sense of style can be challenging when your someone who sweats profusely like me! Yet summer sweaters paired with shorts have always been a nice look if put together correct.
Timing is important. As I mentioned earlier this ‘GAWGA’ heat can make you wanna wear next to nothing most days… wearing a sweater in June may seem crazy. But before you run out and pick thicker heavy sweater, choose wisely. Choose fabrics that are on the much thinner side of the spectrum. Change up cashmeres, wools, and thick knits for thin summer cotton, gauze and lightweight bamboo or other natural organic blends.
I finished this look off with a pair off classic penny loafers by Cole Haan. I think this is a shoe that is very versatile and trancends every season. They slip on and off easily and are good on comfort. You can always opt for a higher end brand of loafers but I tend to stick with what works best for my feet and budget.
This look was very easy to put together as I tend to buy things at the end of one season, and they sit in my closet for a while like this lightweight sweater from Old Navy. I purchased the shorts from Target by their fairly new line which also includes “Big & Tall” sizes Goodfellow & Co. You can also shop this look below!

Lastly please use your own judgement, if it’s really hot out. Don’t wear a sweater lol….. If it’s hot enough for shorts, think twice about wearing a sweater. As much as I like this look it’s best pulled off when the weather is warm with a cool breeze. Or patio day drinking, a nice boat party, or a back yard bbq that goes all night so you’ll be prepared for when the chill comes in.
